The Clinical Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the patient care unit in an efficient and cost effective manner. Under the general direction of the Department Director, shares responsibility for the unit on a 24 hour basis providing leadership responsibilities for designated clinical areas.Functions as a resource for staff and trains and develops staff. Provides input into the hiring process. With input from the Patient Care Manager, writes performance appraisals and counsels’ staff. Maintains accountability for standards of patient care. Participates with the Department Director in the development of the budget and is responsible for monitoring budgetary expenses.

Five (5) years current nursing experience in specialty. Basic management experience including one (1) year progressive charge nurse experience. BSN/Bachelor’s degree in related field may be substituted for 2 years experience. MSN/Master’s in related field may be substituted for 3 years experience.
