This program is suggested for licensed healthcare professionals who want to care for patients on telemetry/cardiac monitoring. In one fantastic 8-hour course, you will recognize:

Basic cardiac anatomy and electrical conduction

Review of heart sounds

Normal cardiac rhythm monitoring

Atrial, nodal, and ventricular dysrhythmias

Common treatment/interventions

Basic review of pacemaker settings/rhythms
Course Objectives:
At the conclusion of this course, the successful participant will be able to:

Identify pertinent anatomy and physiology of the heart, including cardiac conduction and review of heart sounds

Identify the components of the normal electrocardiograph including measurements of p-wave, p-r interval, QRS rate, QRS duration, and ST segment
-
Recognize and evaluate dysrhythmias originating in the SA node, atria, AV node/junction, ventricles, and heart blocks
-
Identify types of pacemakers and basic pacer problems
-
Review cardiac IV medications (Adenosine, Atropine, Digitalis, Diltiazem, Lidocaine, Magnesium, Esmolol, Propanalol, Dopamine, Dobutamine).
