Learners should be able to:

• Seclect hospice patients based on appropriate criteria
• Explain what hospice offers to the patient and the family
• Refer patients to hospice earlier
• Consider culture when counseling patients/family about hospice care
 

Geared toward Primary Care, Internal Medicine, and Emergency Medicine Physicians.  This activity will encompass the following Desirable Physician attributes:  Patient Care and Procedural skills, Professionalism, Systems-Based practice, Practice-Based learning and improvement and Inter-Personal & Communication Skills, The format will be lecture, Case Presentations and Q & A session.
