The newly formed Women’s Philanthropy Advisory Council (WPAC) of Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Health Foundation is seeking creative, talented individuals who interested in helping raise funds to help Henry Mayo meet the healthcare needs of women in the community.

“The future brings new opportunities for growth – expansion, refurbishment and remodeling – as well as an opportunity to present the next generation of Santa Clarita women with the gift of exceptional healthcare,” said Diana Vose, Foundation president. “By taking part in WPAC, you will help to ensure that our community residents receive the special medical attention they need, with state-of-the-art facilities and technology, as well as world-class physicians, right here in our own neighborhood.”

WPAC, led by a group of dedicated community volunteers, physicians and staff, will participate in the development of a comprehensive philanthropic program in support of women’s health care, with the goal to generate funds through giving. WPAC members are invited to attend quarterly council meetings and additional committee meetings as needed.

Funds raised through WPAC will benefit several facilities on the Henry Mayo campus, including the Sheila R. Veloz Breast Center, Maternity Services, Maternal Outreach and Support Services, the Roberta G. Veloz Cardiac Cath Lab, and the upcoming Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, scheduled to open in 2011.

“A NICU is critical to this valley. At the moment, premature babies have to be transported to the San Fernando Valley or Los Angeles to get the care they need,” Vose said. “Supporting WPAC’s efforts will help build the new NICU and provide the most advanced medical care for our tiniest patients.”
