Henry Mayo Celebrates 36 Years

Physicians, staff and volunteers were treated to gourmet cupcakes, refreshments and gifts during Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital’s 36th birthday celebration held in the hospital’s cafeteria on August 12. The festivities celebrated the hospital’s many accomplishments this past year.

“During the last 36 years, we have seen tremendous growth and changes for our hospital and our community,” said Roger Seaver, president and CEO at Henry Mayo. “As the Santa Clarita Valley has grown, Henry Mayo’s staff, volunteers and physicians have dedicated themselves to providing comfort and quality care to our community and enhancing our services to meet their needs.”

In the past year, Henry Mayo’s accomplishments include a new helipad, a parking garage, a new and larger intensive care unit (ICU), an expanded OR, and the construction of a new neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), scheduled to open in December 2011. Other key successes include the implementation of several electronic health records system components; designation as an Advanced Primary Stroke Center; and the launch of a new spine surgery program. In addition, Henry Mayo was recently ranked inU.S. News’ Best Hospitals guidebook as one of the best hospitals in the Los Angeles Metro Area.

“It is evident by the many accomplishments we’ve achieved this past year that our mission to improve the health of our community through compassion and excellence in healthcare services is embraced by our staff, physicians, and volunteers,” Seaver said. “We are very grateful to the many individuals who have helped us to accomplish so much and we hope they will continue to support us as we grow to better serve our community. This community can count on us to continueproviding quality healthcare well into the future.”
