Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital’s Nuclear Medicine and CT Imaging services recently obtained the prestigious ACR (American College of Radiology) accreditation.<?xml:namespace prefix = o />
Nuclear and CT services met ACR’s rigorous standards to achieve these designations, including changes in policies and procedures, developing protocols and a process for peer review. The imaging quality produced from the machines, is reviewed along with the credentials of the staff and physicians. The accreditation program involves acquiring clinical and phantom images, for CT dose measurement and submission of scanning protocols. In addition, physicians and technologists must meet continuing education and experience requirements.
“This honor is highly acclaimed for our Nuclear Medicine and CT departments,” said Connie Hage CRA, director of Cardiology and Imaging Services. “It takes a great deal of quality imaging, document adjustments and staff time to achieve these awards. Our accreditations are documenting the proof that we are offering superior imaging capabilities.”
