Henry Mayo Is A Baby-Friendly Designated Hospital. Click here for more information.
With a family atmosphere and excellent quality of care, Henry Mayo is honored to be the top choice for maternity services by physicians and parents of the Santa Clarita Valley, and starting in 2012 we are very excited to be offering parents additional services through our new Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
Our experienced, 100 percent obstetrical-trained nursing team is committed to providing a secure, serene birthing experience that respects the decisions and desires of the mother, her family, and her physician.
In our Women's Unit, we want to provide our patients with a total family experience. Up to two other adults may be with the mother throughout labor and delivery. Once Mom has transferred to a postpartum room, she may have up to three visitors at a time. As long as it's medically sound, Mom can have her baby with her as much as she wants. We encourage moms to "Room In" with their babies to enhance the bonding process and support breast milk production. We are pleased to announce that we are now Baby-Friendly.
The Women's Unit is located on the second floor of the Main Hospital Building. Visiting hours are from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Fathers can visit any time. All newborn infants wear special wristbands that sound an alarm if a baby leaves the department. Mothers and fathers wear similar wristbands that identify them as the parents of their infant. For additional security, babies are always transported between your hospital room and the nursery in one of our bassinets.
