Let 2022 Be Mindful
Our mission in Community Education includes making sure we are addressing all aspects of health- mind, body and soul. To that end, we are excited to start the year with a new Mindfulness class. Whether you attended our previous Practicing Mindfulness classes or not, we hope you’ll consider giving our new class and instructor a try.
Mindfulness in the United States is most closely connected to Jon Kabat-Zinn, a professor of medicine at the University of Massachusetts who set out to see if at his hospital, along with healing the body, mindfulness meditation could also help heal the mind. He founded the Stress Reduction Clinic and the Center for Mindfulness, Health Care and Society.
Much research now supports the benefits of meditation, breath work, and practice in stress reduction to improve health. From lowering blood pressure and blood sugars, to better sleep and improved focus, there are many reasons why one may want to practice Mindfulness. Try out our new class this January! Starting Monday, January 10th, 4-5pm, Release and Let Go with Mindful Meditation will help you explore various aspects of meditation and how it may help reduce stress, improve relationships and create inner peace. We hope to see you for this and many other classes during the year!
