Your Wait Time in Our Emergency Department

Your wait time will depend on the severity of your condition and the severity of the conditions of others in our Emergency Department.

Each patient is assigned a priority level based on the severity of their condition. The most severe patients (those experiencing heart attacks, strokes or other events that require immediate treatment) are given a higher priority.

There may be times when you see few patients in our waiting room but you are still waiting to be brought to a room. Please know that many patients with serious conditions come to our Emergency Department by ambulance and must be treated right away. These patients do not come through our waiting room so you will not see them.

We strive to see every patient as quickly as we can. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
