The miracle of birth is an amazing experience, and our birthing classes can help you feel informed and confident every step of the way.
Our comprehensive in-person and online birthing classes are designed and taught by expert childbirth educators. All expecting parents who want to make better-informed choices as they approach labor and delivery are welcome.

Childbirth Education Series- One Day Saturday Class
A comprehensive course for you and your significant other, covering everything you need to know about pregnancy and beyond.
This is a childbirth education course that covers:
- Pregnancy
- Stages of labor
- Pain management
- Relaxation techniques
- Cesarean section
- The post-partum period
- Newborn care
- Maternal Mental Health

Childbirth Education Series
This comprehensive four-week course is designed for expecting parents or moms-to-be and their birth partner. It covers everything you need to know about the birth experience, including pregnancy, labor and delivery, natural birth, pain relief, and more. You’ll also learn about important approaches to baby care and other issues you can expect to encounter beyond the birth experience.
Week 1 to 3: During the first three weeks of childbirth classes, topics covered will include:
- Pregnancy
- Stages of labor and delivery and what to expect during the birth process
- Options for pain relief
- Relaxation techniques to help ease the birth experience, including an overview of Lamaze and Bradley Method®
- Cesarean sections vs. natural birth
- The postpartum period after labor and birth
- Newborn education and baby care
- Maternal mental health
Week 4: Successful Breastfeeding/Supporting the Working Mother, an informative online class taught via video, is the final segment of our Childbirth Education Series.
Free Bonus Class: Baby Care Basics, another online course, offers helpful, trustworthy information about caring for baby during the first weeks and months
Cost: $160 per couple
**Sessions 1–3 must be taken together.
Baby Care Basics - Free Online Course
This informal class, taught by a pediatrician, helps new parents feel more comfortable caring for their newborns. Topics include newborn care, sleep patterns, vaccinations, and sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS). A discussion session is also included to allow opportunities for expecting parents to ask questions about baby care.
This is an online course taught using Zoom. Registration is required.

First Weeks Breastfeeding Workshop-Free Course
Thursdays: 9–10 a.m. and 10:15–11:15 a.m.
This free workshop is held at the Henry Mayo Health and Fitness Center in Community Education. Online registration required.

Successful Breastfeeding - Free Online Course
Taught by one of our very own lactation specialists, you will learn the art of successful breastfeeding. The class is a must for moms and their partners as part of their labor and delivery education. In fact, studies show that couples who attend a prenatal breastfeeding class have longer breastfeeding duration than those who do not.
Things you will learn in this class:
- How hormones relate to milk production
- Proper positioning and latch-on techniques
- Solutions to common breastfeeding problems
- Pumping
- and more
This is a free online course recorded using Zoom. Prior registration is required.

Mother's Connect - Support Group
This is an in person group for mothers to connect with each other, share experiences, and learn helpful tools and resources to help adjust to motherhood and address any perinatal mood concerns that might be present.
Babies under 1 year old are welcome.
This is facilitated by Henry Mayo Hospital social worker, Rachel Franco, LCSW.
