Outpatient Neurological Rehabilitation

Our Outpatient Neurological Rehabilitation program offers a unique interdisciplinary team approach for patients who benefit from multiple therapies. Patients have access to Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech Therapy – which are all provided in the same clinical setting.

Our program supports a comfortable transition from Inpatient and Home therapies to Outpatient services, with a focus on sustaining functional gains and promoting long-term wellness.

Rehabilitation Therapists combine their experience and expert handling techniques with the latest technology to help patients maximize function and achieve personalized goals. Family and caregiver training is included in the therapy plan of care to ensure carry over of skills.

Appointments for evaluation by a Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital outpatient therapist can be made by calling the Outpatient Neurological Rehabilitation Department at 661.200.1450. We will need your name, physician’s therapy prescription, health insurance, and condition for which you seek treatment.

Acute Hospital Neurological Rehabilitation

We also offer inpatient rehabilitation services. These begin when a physician orders the appropriate therapy evaluations. Therapy interventions will depend on the nature and extent of neurological deficits. Physical Therapy may be ordered for problems with mobility, strength or balance. Occupational Therapy may be ordered for difficulty performing self care activities or for limited arm or hand function. Speech Therapy may be ordered for issues with cognition, communication, or swallowing.

Our Rehabilitation team has a thorough understanding of the scope of neurological impairments and is equipped to provide focused, compassionate care at the bedside. We service patients in all areas of the hospital, including the Emergency Department, ICU, Women’s Unit, Behavioral Health Unit, Acute Rehabilitation Unit and other units within the hospital.
