Veteran, Insurance Investigator, RN, and now Doctor of Nursing
“You're never given a dream without also being given the power to make it true.”― Richard Bach. Our colleague and friend Joe Greene’s life is a testament and gives voice to these powerful words. There are times in life when following dreams doesn’t seem practical. Joe knew at the young age of 16, after having the opportunity to work as a nurse’s aide that he’d found his calling. The realities of life set in and he chose a career in the military, then in the insurance industry. Joe never lost interest in his first real career love and his dream came to fruition in 2002 when he became a registered nurse.
Joe joined the Henry Mayo family as an RN, and has been one of the true heroes of the Emergency Department. Seven years ago, Joe decided to expand his dream and this year, he graduated from Boise State University with a Doctorate in Nursing. Joe supervises the Emergency Department’s Residency Program for newly graduated nurses, and has an interest in implementing mental health treatment for adolescents in the ER.
We congratulate Joe and wish him all the best in his new role here at Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital. To learn more about Joe Greene’s inspirational story, please visit https://signalscv.com/2021/05/never-too-late-to-pursue-your-dream/
