Macy's joins in Support of our Healthcare Team's Resiliency Efforts
A hospital can be a stressful and hectic environment under the best of circumstances. Healthcare workers are on the front line, experiencing the highs and lows of patients on a daily basis. During the past 22 months of COVID-19, the toll on our healthcare team has been even more dramatic. Not only are they dealing with the stress of their everyday job and the changing policies and protocols, but, like all of us, they have seen the pandemic’s impact on their family and their daily routines.
Recognizing the extreme stress our employees and physicians face, Henry Mayo has strived to provide relaxing locations to escape and unwind, even if it’s just for a short break. We are blessed with outside areas including our healing garden, the Sandnes Courtyard, and other campus locations available as a refuge when the weather allows. Recently, we also transformed indoor space off of our cafeteria into what we call a Resiliency Room. Soft lights, more comfortable furniture, and relaxing music provides a brief respite for the weary worker. We are grateful to Macy’s who recently provided a grant to help us make the Resiliency Room even more of a special retreat.
