Longtime volunteer and Henry Mayo supporter Debbie Burkhart assumes role.
Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital is pleased to announce that Debbie Burkhart, a long-time volunteer and supporter of the hospital, has been elected as the new president of the Henry Mayo Auxiliary for 2023.
Burkhart has volunteered at Henry Mayo for more than 25 years. She began volunteering in the Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital Home Tour League and eventually went on to become Home Tour president in 2001. She later joined the Auxiliary and started volunteering at the hospital in Patient Relations. Her current volunteer assignment is in the hospital’s Marketing and Physicians Relations Departments.
“I am honored and excited to serve as the president of the Auxiliary,” said Burkhart. “I have met so many wonderful people through volunteering at Henry Mayo and I hope to inspire others to join us in making a difference.”
Debbie Burkhart has been a Santa Clarita valley resident since 1967. She graduated from Canyon High School and earned her bachelor’s degree from California State University, Bakersfield. Currently she works part time for two businesses, a construction company and the non-profit organization Hart Music Boosters.
“Debbie is an exceptional leader who has a passion for Henry Mayo and our community,” said April Garcia, manager of Henry Mayo volunteer services. “We are delighted to have her as our new Auxiliary president and look forward to working with her in this new role.”
The Henry Mayo Auxiliary began as the Santa Clarita Valley Women’s Auxiliary in 1962. It provides service and support to the hospital and its patients while promoting optimal health and wellness.
