December Foundation President's Message

December is the season of festive and thoughtful celebrations, a time for family, friends and special remembrances of people no longer with us.  From all of us at Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital Foundation, we wish you meaningful holidays!

At Henry Mayo, we kick off December with our annual Holiday Home Tour Gala, raising money for our Center for Women and Newborns. We are so grateful to Todd and Stephanie Stelnick of SCREM Property Management, and to all our sponsors, homeowners, designers and Gala attendees for truly making this event the way to "Ring in the Holidays" in the Santa Clarita Valley. This season is also time to honor and remember all we love. Our Light up a Life celebration is a meaningful way to pay tribute to important people in our life. We had a lovely reading of the names this week, with candles placed in the Keith Crawford Healing Garden and the Sandnes Courtyard for patients, families, and staff to reflect upon. Please consider a Gift of Life donation LINK  to honor or memorialize a special person; names will be displayed on our website and in our hospital lobby.

Year end is a time of both reflection and looking ahead. We are proud of Henry Mayo's many accomplishments in 2023, including implementing major new patient experience initiatives, expanding our oncology services with our joint venture partner Keck Medicine of USC, and celebrating 39 years of service as a Trauma Center with a "Quality Partner" designation from the American College of Surgeons. In 2024, we will seek continued excellence and innovation in serving our community.

Always,  we must give sincere appreciation to our staff and physicians. They dedicate countless hours to keeping our community healthy and safe.
