"My mom suffers from a rare neurological condition that prevents her from being able to communicate properly, among other things. On our first day in the unit, the nurse was the day-shift nurse that day and for the next two days. The nurse did his best to understand my mom and her condition, even taking the time to research it and share his findings with our family. He was so communicative with the ever-changing plan of care and was always in contact with the team of doctors, pushing for better methods of keeping my mom comfortable. His presence and actions made my mom feel cared for and made her visit at Henry Mayo all the better. On our day of discharge, he even stopped in to talk with my mom and us (myself and several family members) and said goodbye to her. The nurse is an outstanding care taker and an exceptional person.
