August Foundation President's Message 

Greetings from the Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital Foundation! It's Back-to-School time for students in the Santa Clarita Valley, and for the rest of us, it marks the end of summer and the return to regular routines.

At Henry Mayo, we’re gearing up for the fall and winter seasons by encouraging everyone to get their flu shots, ensure their vaccines are up to date, and proactively schedule routine physician visits.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month is recognized internationally in October so now is the perfect time to schedule mammograms before the Sheila R. Veloz Breast Center gets extra busy. Don’t forget about other important cancer screenings for you and your family, such as prostate, lung, and colon. Make those appointments today!

In this month’s edition of our newsletter you will find information about our strong partnership with the William S. Hart Union School District on athletic trainers, a podcast about staying healthy during fire season, and a spotlight on our stroke program. We also highlight how philanthropy supports not only our hospital but the overall health of our community.
