January 2024 Foundation President's Message

Happy New Year!

We started off the new year at Henry Mayo welcoming the first baby born in 2024. It’s always a joyous celebration in the Center for Women and Newborns to welcome our newest and smallest patient. Also, our Auxiliary brightened the day of many of our other patients and the staff as they provided balloons throughout the hospital to celebrate January 1.

As we start this new year, many of us focus on resolutions surrounding our health. Henry Mayo Fitness and Health on Town Center Drive is a great place to start –or resume- your wellness journey. Please check out our very well respected, full service gym with its wide array of equipment, group exercise classes, individual trainers, and even massage services!

We urge you to be always be vigilant and proactive about your health. Over the last several weeks, we are seeing rising cases of respiratory viruses, the flu and COVID. Many of you may be aware that the emergency room has been unusually busy; please be assured we are working diligently to provide more staff and rooms to serve this increased volume.

As you read our newsletter, please note some upcoming blood drives. The need for blood supplies is at a high level throughout the country and here at Henry Mayo. Your donation just takes a few minutes and makes a huge difference.

It may also be of interest to know that Henry Mayo keeps a supply of teddy bears and other new stuffed animals to offer to children and some young family members when in the ER or hospitalized. If you’re interested in donating teddy bears to us, please click HERE.

Our wish for our community is that we all stay healthy, take care of ourselves and our families, and support our community resources in this coming year. We specifically thank you for your very generous investment in our not-for-profit, independent Hospital.
