October Foundation President's Message

Breast Cancer Awareness Month is celebrated worldwide throughout October and Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital is proud to make it a particular focus of ours! Our Sheila R. Veloz Breast Center is a beloved resource for our community, providing screenings, diagnostic procedures and genetic testing for almost 20 years! The fundraising led by our Foundation helps to keep the Sheila R. Veloz Breast Center state-of-the-art while also assisting women who are uninsured or under insured get the assistance they need. Please help us generate both awareness on the importance of regular mammograms, and essential financial support towards this important endeavor.  We're grateful to our many community partners who help us with this effort so please check our Calendar of Events for some meaningful, and fun, opportunities!

Our hearts and prayers go out to all impacted by the horrific hurricanes throughout the southeast. As many of you may have read, hospitals across the United States are feeling effects as well, as a key supplier of IV fluids has been heavily impacted. At Henry Mayo, we are managing our resources wisely as we monitor this national situation.

As we embrace the cooler Fall weather and upcoming holiday season, remember to get your flu shot, COVID or other vaccines, and schedule appropriate screenings or proactive physician visits. Take care of your health!
